Top Wedding Chick Flicks for the Bride and Maid of Honor to Enjoy Together!
In the days or weeks before the wedding, it can be a relaxing, fun bonding experience for the Bride and Maid of Honor to enjoy some of the classic wedding chick flicks. This could also be a great activity for the Bride, Bridesmaids, and Maid of Honor to spend time together on the last night before the wedding festivities (like the Rehearsal Dinner) get started. A wedding chick flick movie marathon with some popcorn and perhaps champagne can be a wonderful thing! The following are some of the best wedding chick flicks.
- The Wedding Singer: This funny, feel good movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is filled with delightfully cheesy eighties music, hairdos, and bridesmaid dresses! It's a wedding chick flick sure to gear up the Bride and her Maids for some serious wedding dancing.
- My Best Friend's Wedding: How could the Bride and Maid of Honor not feel for Julia Roberts in this entertaining chick flick which takes us through the whole wedding process? It can also serve as a great What-Not-to-Do for the Maid of Honor (not that any of you would do what Julia does!).
- My Big Fat Greek Wedding: This hilarious wedding chick flick teaches us all to appreciate our crazy families as the wedding events unfold. And the Maid of Honor can be reassured about her own bridesmaid dress by comparison!
- The Wedding Date: I just love Deborah Messing (of Will and Grace fame), and Dermot Mulroney is some serious eye candy. This is one of the best wedding chick flicks!
- Much Ado About Nothing: Okay, this movie is based on Shakespeare, but it's a genuinely fun wedding chick flick. How could it not be with the likes of Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh, Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington, Michael Keaton...and the list goes on. If you don't mind a bit of archaic language (presented in a VERY understandable way), this is perfect for the Bride and Maid of Honor to enjoy!
- Father of the Bride: While this may be an older wedding movie chick flick (starring Steve Martin), it's still a lot of fun. Like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the Maid of Honor might select this one to remind the Bride how the wedding might affect the rest of her family (in humorous fashion!).
- Serendipity: Okay, so this chick flick may be about the cancelation of a wedding, but it's a cute movie starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. This is a great movie choice (unless of course the Maid of Honor thinks the wedding cancelation theme might be too much for the Bride!).
