Bridal Shower- Easy Food Suggestions!
Even if you're not Rachel Ray or Julia Child, you can present a tasty food selection at the Bridal Shower. Veteran Maids of Honor know that it's not about cooking skill, but clever choice and presentation. There are many easy to prepare culinary selections which will make any Bridal Shower (and the Maid of Honor hostess!) shine. Here are just a few to get you started.
- Wine and cheese: This is traditional, elegant, and different cheeses can satisfy just about any taste buds for a very delicious Bridal Shower affair. Make sure you select a variety of cheeses, from soft favorites like brie or camembert, to well-known cheeses like swiss or smoked gouda, and maybe a herb cheese or two. The Maid of Honor could even try to find a cheese related in some way to where the Bride will be going on her honeymoon!
- Cold cuts, hearty bread, and garnishes: This kind of light meal is perfect for a late afternoon Bridal Shower. The key to making this seem like a culinary feast is for the Maid of Honor to roll up the cold cuts (ham, turkey, cheese, etc.) and lay them out on the plate artistically. For garnishes, you could include pickles (cornichons, small pickles from France, are quite elegant), olives, and roasted vegetables, all of which can be purchased ready to go at most supermarkets.
- Bagels, cream cheese, and lox: Ideal for a Bridal Shower which starts in the late morning, this breakfast spread can be just the thing. To up the ante on this choice, the Maid of Honor should select a wide variety of spreads, from cream cheese and jelly to nutella!
- BBQ food: If you're holding an outdoor Bridal Shower, go with the theme and barbecue. Even the least talented of cooks among Maids of Honor can successfully barbecue hotdogs and hamburgers. If you're feeling more adventurous, try grilling vegetables like zucchinni, eggplant, mushrooms, and peppers. Grilled chicken is always a favorite as well.
