Fun gifts!
Whether Maid of Honor or Bridesmaid, there's something very alluring about these female members of the bridal party. If you're single, why not use this enigma to your advantage? A wedding brings together both sides of the Bride and Groom's families, their coworkers, their friends, and scads of other (potentially single) people. The wedding brings people together, requires everyone to dress their best, then places them in a social setting composed of dancing, drinking, and talking. I can think of no better place for a single Maid of Honor to meet someone new.
There is one caution for the Maids of Honor and Bridesmaids out there. This lovely phenomenon I'm calling Bridesmaid Allure, attracts just as many one night stands as it does people available for serious relationships. Depending on which category you fit into, just know that what the other person is looking for may be different from that which would meet your own needs.
Since the Maid of Honor already occupies a visibly central role, she has every excuse to introduce herself at any and every table and to encourage and/or invite people to dance (with her). This can be a great way to expand your social circle and potentially find a great date (or two!). Don't miss out on this amazing social opportunity!
Why not get out on the dance floor and claim Maid of Honor dance privileges with the Groom's attractive brother or that great guy who works with the Bride? The perfectly coiffed Maid of Honor is nearly impossible to say no to. If you're shy, try "taking pictures for the Bride." This is a great strategy to say hello to anyone who catches your fancy. And if things don't go as you'd like them to, it's perfectly normal for the Maid of Honor to say thank you and move on to dance with someone else. That's part of what weddings are for after all!
